Economic Development

Westfield, just minutes from the capital city of Indianapolis, is a city that offers something for all aspects of your life. Westfield is community that’s pro-business, friendly and supportive; a place where work, family and friends blend together in both work and place. Westfield is proud of its rich history and honors it by moving forward with parks, trails, arts and culture, a farmer’s market and other community events are designed to bring the best to residents and visitors. Westfield is proud of its excellent, award winning schools that enhance a city that is filled with vision and embraces Midwestern values.

In regard to economic development, one objective of the Westfield Chamber of Commerce is to educate the membership and the community on the impacts of issues being addressed. Monthly meeting designed for Chamber members offer speakers along with overviews of local projects and topics of interest. An active committee oversees this meeting paying close attention to the four areas that surround economic development in Westfield: Business Retention, Business Attraction, Current Events and Legislative Affairs.

Chamber Board members are visible at City Council and Planning Commission meetings giving the Chamber decision-makers first-hand knowledge on the issues facing the community. The Legislative Affairs committee reviews bills that may impact businesses or the community. Whenever practicable, strategic alliances will be formed with other business organizations. The Westfield Chamber strongly believes strength is found first in the process, then the project. When needed, task forces are established to investigate the nuances of particular issues. The use of surveys, focus groups, or one on one discussions will be utilized to strengthen positions taken by the Chamber. The Chamber, as an organization, can only be as strong as the membership. The opinions of members weigh heavily on the decisions formed during committee and board meetings.

The Chamber, alongside the City, works diligently to retain valuable existing business while creating an environment that is pleasing and attracts new business interests. Complementing the City’s business amenities is the availability of commercial and industrial development properties. Growth and prosperity continue in Westfield. Along with its available land for expansion and a network of fiber optics, utilities and highly accessible roadways, Westfield is constantly investing in the community. Westfield is an up and coming community in Hamilton County and central Indiana. With a growing residential base and a forward thinking economic development program, the City is on its way to becoming a city new residents and business will join with the existing who are proud to call this community home.

The Westfield Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Economic Development Foundation, and the City of Westfield, promotes the advantages of doing business in Westfield. A collaborative effort is made to address issues that impact the downtown issues, transportation solutions, community activities and other concerns that may arise. The Chamber is committed to being at the table and to being an active participant in reaching goals and solutions. The attraction of new businesses into the community is vital to the success of Westfield. Equally important is the retention of valuable businesses that currently call Westfield home. Every effort is to be made to ensure that once businesses locate in Westfield, they continue to call Westfield home.
